On a tip off from East End Prints I scrambled down to the catch the last few minutes of Rad Science, put together by illustration collective Hero of Switzerland. I arrived at the 5th Base Gallery with half an hour to spare but sadly there were already artworks and name tags disappearing from the walls as the exhibition fell apart around me. Here’s a quick edit of the light hearted and often humorous work that most grabbed my attention as I whipped around at warp speed, all inspired by the world of science.
I always love a mushroom. This bright illustration is by Naomi Batts.
Girl Germs showcases great typography by Esme Tearle.
I’ve been admiring the work of Raj Dhunna on instagram for awhile so it was good to see it in real life. His Observation Experiment showcases his colourful outsize style.
Wooden cutouts of famous scientists were presented by Biff.
I don’t know what this says about me, but I really want a wooden penis. Aren’t they ace? By Jenny Haytch.
Hey Laserlips robot art is by Sam Peet.
Finally Recognise this? I Win by Adam Graff; you can also find his work for sale from East End Prints.
All these artworks first appeared on my instagram feed, so don’t forget to follow me on instagram if you want to share my discoveries as I find them.
