Day Job Studio specialise in publications, prints, workshops, set design and installations, all created with an ethos of playfulness and the desire to encourage abstract thinking. They are a Peckham based illustration collective comprise of 10 graduates from Camberwell College of Arts, many of whom featured in my review of the 2012 graduate exhibition, Mixed Special. In their new guise as Day Job Studio they also caught my eye at this years ‘Pick Me Up’ exhibition at Somerset House, with a strong selection of prints, ceramics and illustrated objects on show. This talented bunch have just curated a Peckham themed ‘V&A Friday Late’, and now they bring you a programme of free Summer Art Clubs which take place in Peckham Space, inspired by the array of fast food outlets of South East London. What fun! The programme includes free drop-in activities, workshops, art and music. Here's a selection of the delights that will be on show – and you're all invited to the private view!
Other featured artists include: Joshua Checkley, Daniel Clarke, Aaron Cook, Katie Johnston, Ella Mclean and Victoria Willmott. They are all pretty darn wonderful! Check out the facebook event here and find more information on the Peckham Space website here.
Private view: Thursday 1st August, 6-9pm
Opening times: Tues-Fri, 12 noon-6pm, Sat-Sun, 12 noon-5pm
