I was super excited when the information for this exhibition dropped into my inbox: great artwork created in aid of a great cause, this is the kind of thing I love. Love Thy Badger has been put together to highlight the plight of badgers across the UK, which have been targeted with aggressive culling plans this autumn in an attempt to curb the spread of Bovine TB in cattle, despite the science behind this being extremely questionable.
Love Thy Badger opens on 21st June with artwork donated by a host of talented contributors, all created on the theme of badgers and designed to raise awareness for the cause as well as much needed funds for the Wildlife Trusts, which are challenging the decisions in court. In Wales the proposed culls have already been dropped in favour of vaccination and it is hoped that this can be extended across the rest of the UK.
The exhibition is being held in conjunction with WildlifeTrusts at the Protein Feed gallery at 18 Hewitt Street, east London. The private view will feature a screening of Baby Badgers! from Vice magazine with drinks kindly provided by Badger Ales. Grab yourself some wonderful badger artwork and help save our furry friends!
