Amelia's Magazine contributor Lou Taylor will be hosting a series of papercutting workshops over a period of 3 weeks on Sundays at the newly opened Super+Super creative hub in Brighton – a place to gather and drink tea, swap stuff, buy vintage clothing, learn and create things.
Lou will introduce you to the basics of papercutting, learning how to (safely!) use a Swann and Morton blade, your imagination and bright paper to create striking images and illustrations. Learn the techniques of paperweaving and how to make your papercuts take on 3D forms. Find more info here:
Dates: Sundays 2.30pm — 4.30pm, June 10th, 17th, 24th
Cost: £85 (will include Swann Morton handle with blades and a steel ruler). Student concession £80
Also involved:
Zara Wood, aka Woody, will be revealing her new characters at Super+Super during the course of Brighton festival – expect these quirky illustrations to appear throughout the month of May. She will also be running a workshop teaching you how to create your own characters on Saturday 26th May. It costs £40 and there will be one to one tuition. More details here. Original sketches will be available to buy for just £75 each.

A bit more about Super+Super:
It was set up by crafter extra-ordinaire Miss Amy Phipps and vintage style blogger ‘She’s called Claire’ as a place to do all their favourite things under one roof: they run plenty of events and also host desk spaces for eager freelancers. If you're Brighton based go check them out!
