Amelia’s Magazine | Absorb Arts Open Studio and Print Club London Exhibition

It looks like Dalston (well, more specifically, arty haven Miller’s Avenue) is the only place to be this weekend for creatives in need of some eye candy.

If fine art is your thing, you’ll be pleased to hear that Absorb Arts will be welcoming all and sundry into their Unit 4 studio space this weekend with their Open Studio event. Beginning with an opening party at 6pm on Friday the 11th, Absorb Arts promise to showcase the whole spectrum of artistic disciplines; from photography to painting, sculptures to installations.

Elly Clarke, a finalist in the London Photographic Awards Still Life Competition will be exhibiting her acclaimed piece that captures a moment of culinary contemplation on the Trans Siberian train.

For those in need of screen-printed pleasures, satisfaction will be provided just a few doors down. The private view of Print Club London‘s ‘Blisters on My Fingers’ show will also be taking place on Friday. 35 talented printers (such as Ivan Mayorquin, below) will be selling their work for just £35 each! So, if your walls are as bare as mine and in need of some graphic goodness, you can’t afford to miss it!

If you miss out on any of the Friday night fun (and both Friday events look to be very popular, with Print Club London suggesting people add themselves to their guest list), you can catch up with the artists and the printers of Miller’s Avenue on Saturday the 12th and Sunday the 13th from noon until 5.
