Helen Lovelee has collaborated with Wishbone Design, a sustainable company, in connection with the 2011 UN International Year of Forests. This is the background for the animal theme of the show; Helen has drawn endangered species from the Wollemi Wilderness world heritage forest site, located outside of Sydney, Australia. Helen Lovelee has a gorgeous patterned illustration style, but the new show will also include animation.
The venue, Green Lens Studios, is the UK’s first sustainable photographic studio, built from 70% reclaimed materials. The space recycles all waste, offsets carbon emissions through tree planting and there are plans to install solar panels to take it off the grid.
We will attend the opening so look out for our review.
‘Open your eyes, look around you and watch out’ by Helen Lovelee opens Thursday 24th March at Green Lens Studios in Haringey: 4a Atterbury Road, London N4 1FS. The show runs until 31st March. Open Monday 9am – 4.30pm, Tuesday-Thursday 9am -7.30pm, Friday and Saturday 9am -5.30pm.
