You might remember Damien Barlow from my travels around the graduate degree shows – I spotted his wonderful work on the Leeds College of Art stand at New Designers. He also caught the eye of Just So Art, a platform which supports young designers within the worlds of furniture, ceramics, art and textiles. Designers are given space to exhibit at their showroom of in the Islington Business Design Centre as well as expert advice and help in launching their career.
Just So Art commissioned Damien Barlow to create a series of eight papercuts inspired by London, earth, space and all things in-between. Each piece of A3 artwork (which took three days to produce) will be for sale at the exhibition, which takes place between 13th October and 30th November, but I suggest you visit early because three pieces will be moved for display at Chelsea Harbour on 28th October.
Damien Barlow will be holding an exclusive preview between 6-9pm on the 13th October, when he will be in attendance to discuss his inspiration and process behind the series.
