I've done a fair bit of teaching up in Nottingham recently, and I have especially enjoyed helping on a zine project that the Fashion Communication and Promotion students have been working on for the past few months. Sadly I won't get a chance to see the final zines but if you live locally you can see what they have come up with on Saturday 28th May at Hopkinson Gallery, where the Raw Print Club will be presenting their final creations at the newly founded Nottingham Zine Fair.

From 11am-4pm the event will showcase over 100 of the latest indie publications by arts students and zinesters from Nottingham and beyond. Confirmed stallholders include Zeene, Rum Lad, Marching Stars Distro and Ultrahorse. Throughout the day a host of exciting events will also take place; these include zine-making and a roundtable discussion on the future of zines.

From the crop of FCP students that I have been teaching I suggest you look out for the following beauties:
Lomogue Zine – dedicated to a new found love of all things analogue @Lomoguezine
Lucid Daze, based on random thoughts and dreams @luciddaze
Keep it Sweet Zine – for all your culinary delights @KeepItSweetZine

It was really inspirational to see a bunch of fashion students really take the zine concept to heart and start exploring all kinds of unusual ideas. Let me know if you find anything you particularly love! For more information, take a look at the Nottingham Zine Fair and the Raw Print website.
