Brooklyn based Cory Arcangel is what's known as a “games artist” – which means that he works with the medium of computer technology to create installations that manipulate forms that are most usually seen on our TV screens. In his latest mammoth installation at the Barbican Curve Gallery he has taken 14 bowling games of different vintages and projected them against the massive curve of the gallery wall.
The results are staggeringly awesome. I'll be writing a longer review shortly, but in the meantime if you are loitering around the Barbican anytime soon I urge you to step towards the loud computer bleeps mingled with typical bowling alley skittle crashing rattles.
The exhibition is on until the 22nd of May 2011. More info here.
