Amelia’s Magazine | Bellowhead on tour.

bellowhead

Bellowhead, the enormous band with theatrical devices, respected awards and knitwear vices. If they were a piece of clothing they would be a tweed jacket. But not like your teacher’s, they’d be ruffled up a bit, with a smudge of carpentry tool dirt for the boys and an inordinately cinched in waist for the girls.

When they are on stage you could get anything. We’re talking burlesque, dancing, prancing and general pandemonium. Well it must be difficult co-ordinating eleven band members with hearts dipped in Olde English folk, then topped with contemporary twist sprinkles. Anything could happen.

I shall be watching them in Bristol. Unfortunately this show has sold out. However these upcoming shows have not. So get your skates on and watch these four time winners of the BBC’s Best Live Folk Band Award. Head to the Bellowhead website for more info on where to buy tickets.

My review of the band’s performance at the Old Vic will follow soon.
