Transition Heathrow

Stacks of beautiful apples and pears await you in Sipson. Community members and Grow Heathrow volunteers took to the lanes of the Heathrow villages two weeks ago and collected fruits for winter preserving, and jam, cider and chutney-making this Sunday (see photos here).

So take your recipes and jam jars down to join in the Autumn fun, and don't forget your conker for the Sipson Golden Conker Championship 2010. Varnish is banned, but vinegar allowed!

Activities begin at 11am with lunch provided and donations welcome. There are regular trains from Paddington to West Drayton which is a short bike or bus ride away from the site at Vineries close, Sipson, UB7 0JG.

For more travel information and background to the project visit the Transition Heathrow website here.
