Ahhh, property developers…whenever their name is mentioned, it’s rarely in a positive light. Paul Arden (Mr Saatchi & Saatchi advertising genius) once said: “You can achieve the unachievable”, and this event aims to do exactly that.
Portobello Rocks is a major art event aiming to raise enough money to buy back the All Saints shop from the property dealers who bought it illegally, displacing the space from its rightful owners, the market traders.
On Sat 29th May – Sun 30th May, the glitterati are expected to turn out in force – including some of the biggest names in music and film – to generate mass media coverage to help save the famous London landmark from being turned into another generic road populated with high street shops, eroding it from its unique Notting Hill character.
The organisers behind Portobello Rocks are asking members of the public to lend their support to help save the integrity and artistry of Notting Hill and there are a variety of ways to get involved. For further information about the cause or how you can get stuck in, email Portobello Rocks organisers here.
