Tamikrest, led by 27-year-old singer/songwriter/guitarist Ousmane Ag Mossa, are a desert blues/rock band singing in Tamashek, the language of the Touareg (nomadic people inhabiting the Saharan desert across various countries, including Niger, Algeria, Libya and Mali). They can be seen as the “spiritual sons” of Tinariwen. “Adagh” was recorded at the famous Studio Bogolan in Bamako (which was founded by the late Ali Farka Toure) and produced by Chris Eckman, leader of acclaimed US band The Walkabouts who has also collaborated with Willard Grant Conspiracy and many others and is one third of Dirtmusic.
