Calling all those who a) missed their education at Climate Camp, malady thumb b) felt passionately about the workshops but not enough to camp for them or c) are computer sitting hermits… we would like to introduce you to the splendour of Do Lectures.
Scanning the website of these Doers, help I got a little excitable at the sound of this four day event. Its not surprising with the inspirational lectures from a colourful array of clever specimen including entrepreneurs, inventors, authors and filmmakers. Not to mention the sophisticated low impact camping (furnished tents and wooden decking) jammed right between the incredible setting of Teifi Gorge and Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve in West Wales.

Dreamed up by David and Clare Hieatt the idea is simple, “that people who do things can inspire the rest of us to go and do good things too.” With funding from an Earth Tax donation from howies, the Hiett’s were able to make the magic happen, inviting the Einstein’s behind business and science to share their experties from technology to saving the planet. Climbers saving Jonny Depp on Charlie and the chocolate factory, inventors, environmental activists and authors will unite to share their experiences and thoughts.

There’s a catch mind. There are only 75 places for Do Lectures and not surprisingly they have vanished into thin air. However if you match the criteria of a, b or c you will be relieved to know that each of the talks will be filmed and broadcast online with the idea that “Ideas need oxygen and the internet provides that oxygen.” If your not any of the above, then keep those ears wagging close to the green green grass for next time.
