Bust Magazine Christmas Craftacular returns once again this Sunday for one day only at York Hall, Bethnal Green. This one day event features the likes of Tatty Devine and Rob Ryan as well as The Make Lounge and The Create Place. There will be over 80 stalls and a host of DIY activities, plus DJs, drinks and tasty treats. Here's what cult American magazine Bust has to say about the event:
Now in its third year and with a growing reputation for seeking out talented designer-makers, this November’s Craftacular attracted record numbers of applications, whittled down to a stellar line-up that includes household names such as Tatty Devine and Rob Ryan as well as fledgling businesses.
Alongside the handmade wares – from screen-printed T-shirts and illustrated Christmas cards to experimental millinery and even taxidermy – is a café from Bake and Crafthouse, a fully-stocked bar and a pop-up craft bookshop hosted by Made In The Shade, featuring signings and events from Jazz Domino Holly, Carrie Maclennan, State of Craft and Tatty Devine, who will demonstrate how to make a tape-measure rosette.
Attendees can also try their luck at the Tatty Devine Tombola, enter The Make Lounge Raffle for the chance to win a CXL301 Janome sewing machine worth £299 and learn new craft skills at the following workshops:
Craft a recycled paper present bow with The Create Place – 1pm-3pm.
Make a designer leather dog collar with Prescott & Mackay – 2pm-4pm.
Sew an Xmas card with Mr X Stitch – 3pm-5pm.
Fashion felt slippers with The Merry Bobbins – 4pm-6pm.
Last year I visited and was most taken by what I saw, so do check out my review of the Best of Bust Magazine Christmas Craftacular 2010. I wonder what talent will catch your eyes this year?
