Book Club Leonard Street party

Let's get this straight – I couldn't give a hoot about Wills and Kate. But I do like a good excuse for a party, and there really haven't been enough street parties in London in recent years. So, it is with great anticipation I announce the Leonard Street Royal Wedding Party to take place on Bank Holiday Friday April 29th in Shoreditch.

We've written extensively about all the interesting things that The Book Club does, involving “locals, hipsters, fashionistas and scenesters” and this time they are also inviting “monarchists, patriots, flag-wavers, fancy-dressers and party people, young and old, to join in the fun.” It may just go down in history!

Also involved are the infamous The Griffin pub and Pure Evil Gallery. There will be a vintage fair curated by Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair and Rag&Bow: The Roaming Vintage Store. There will be a live outdoor screening of the Royal Wedding, live music from some of Shoreditch’s favourite faces, food from cool local eateries, punch with a kick, enough booze to keep the party flowing and all the bunting you can imagine. There’ll be tug’o’war, egg & spoon races, and a giant pass the parcel, plus lots more including a Chas 'n' Dave tribute act in the form of Wilf & Squint, Brassroots big brass band and Swing Patrol so you can get your Lindy-Hop on.

The Leonard Street Royal Wedding Party with The Book Club promises to be the most fun a grown-up can have. Imagine the best birthday party you ever went to as a child, and multiply the fun level by a thousand… and you might just get close.
