With their fifth LP, High Violet, due out on the 14th of May, American alt-rockers The National are playing a show at the Electric Ballroom as part of a larger European tour.
If you've heard of this band then they are presumably one of your favourite bands (if not your very favourite band) already; if not, then please, before you die, take the time to investigate their previous LPs (especially 2003's Alligator and 2007's Boxer) which have proven themselves to be some of the most important and empowering music to emerge from the North American continent in the past few decades. That's the hype, but enough people clearly think it justified, judging from the insane early reception to their latest release.
